Moraine-based Cables To Go implements recycling initiative

MORAINE – The buzz words of the year are all about going green, and Cables To Go, 3555 Kettering Blvd., is joining the party by implementing a recycling initiative as part of their 2009 calendar launch to their reseller accounts.

“Cables To Go cares about the environment,” Reseller Marketing Manager Denise Scarpelli said. “That is why we are doing our part by using recyclable paper for the 2009 calendar.”

Calendar requests for 2009 have skyrocketed, largely in part of the success of the 2008 calendar, in which Cable Guy (the Cables To Go mascot) was seen stepping out across the globe searching for answers to the many connectivity questions. Because of the rising demand of the calendar and Cables To Go’s emersion into going green, the 2009 calendar will be printed on recyclable paper.

Costs also will increase for Cables To Go to take this step, costing more to print on recyclable paper than traditional calendar stock.

The 2008 calendar is able to be recycled, and “as a token of appreciation to any of our customers who choose to recycle (the calendar),” Scarpelli said. “Cables to Go will make a donation to the Forest Stewardship Council.”

The FSC is an international, not-for-profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forest.

Recycling the 2008 calendar and making sure the 2009 calendar is done conducive to the Earth’s fragile state is just the start of where Cables To Go plans to take their recycling initiative.
